According to The Minister of the Department of Basic Education (DBE), matric results for 2023 will be announced on Thursday 18 January 2024 after which they will be available.
Friday 19 January 2024, is the date when the results will be available. Learners will be able to check matric results from school or at the examination center. There may be heavy traffic, hence it is necessary to discover up to seven ways to check your results.
The Department also announced registration deadlines for examination checks, remarks and rewrites and other important dates.

- 23 December 2023 – Marks Capture Completed
- 1-2 January 2024 – National Exam Irregularities Committee (NEIC) meeting
- 3-4 January 2024 – Pre-standardisation meeting (DBE)
- 5 January 2024 – Umalusi Standardisation
- 12 January 2024 – Umalusi Approval of Results
- 18 January 2024 – Ministerial Announcement
- 19 January 2024 – Provincial Release of Results
