KNEC Registration Guidelines for January 2024 IAL Exams

KNEC Registration for the Pearson-Edexcel International Advanced Level (IAL) exams in January 2024 will be open from September 4 to October 13th 2023. KNEC IAL exams in Nairobi registration must be completed by prospective candidates before deadline.

Submitting your registration after KNEC IAL registration deadline for January 2024 will incur late registration fees. These late registration fees will be charged for both Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) and IAL. Therefore, do well to register before the January 2024 deadline.

The Kenya National Examinations Council conducts and awards certificates or diplomas to candidates in public academic, technical and other national examinations within Kenya at basic and tertiary levels. The Council, KNEC has further made it possible for candidates to easily register for exams online.

These subjects come along with qualification fee which depends on whether, on International Advanced Level (IAL) or International Advanced Subsidiary Level (IAS). Below is the breakdown:

Now to register to write these subjects, you must meet the registration requirements. These registration requirements are different for Foreign and Kenyan Citizens.

KNEC IAL Registration Requirements 2024

Kenyan Citizens Candidates must:

  • Seek authorization from the Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya National Examinations Council to take the examination.
  • Have both an original and a photocopy of your National ID or Passport.

Note: KNEC may not accept Birth Certificates as ID Documents.

Foreign Nationals Candidates Must:

  • Submit both originals and certified photocopies of their passports or Alien IDs.
  • Have passports with an entry visa, from the Department of Immigraion Services valid for the entire duration of the examination.

In addition, to the identity credentials, all candidates must provide two passport-sized photos.
